Mrs. Doreen Prendergast has been employed in the Public Service for the past 30 years, fourteen (14) of which have been at the senior
management level. During this time she has managed and directed the Policy, Standard and Monitoring Division (now under the Ministry of
Water, Land Environment and Climate Change) and the Housing Solutions Division (Ministry of Environment and Housing and Water and Housing
now Ministry of Transport, Works and Housing). Currently, she is the Chief Technical Director Housing, with responsibility for the day to
day management of the operations of the Technical Service, Projects and Housing Branch of Ministry. Mrs. Prendergast, a Commonwealth Scholar,
Teacher and Civil Servant, is trained in the areas of Geography, Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Planning and Management, Project
Management and Public Sector Senior Management and Leadership.
She serves as a longstanding member of the Policy Analyst Network, Cabinet Office;
the Jamaica Institute of Planners, for which she is a former President. In 2015-16 she served as Vice President of the Optimist Club of Sunset
Liguanea and continues to be a member, committed to outreach in the community.
